Tom Danielson and WBR at Boulder Cycle Sport
Last evening, Boulder Cycle Sport hosted a ride and Q&A with Tom Danielson of Team Garmin Cervelo. Fresh of his 3rd place finish in the Tour of California, he discussed his thoughts on TOC, standing on the podium with his son, the experience of riding wheel to wheel with the peloton in group sprints and preparing for the Tour de France. It was awesome to get a first hand perspective from a professional rider, as so often your only view point is television coverage or post race interviews.
Also at the event were representatives from World Bicycle Relief, which was founded by SRAM in 2005. Their web site has specific details on the complete initiative, but last evening the focus was on providing bicycles to rural Zambian children to improve their access to education. The impact on school attendance for children provided with one of these bikes has been dramatic. One bike costs $134, so get out there and donate!
